The Mentone Area Arts Council is proud to present a series of four woodcarving workshops on Saturday mornings during the month of June. These workshops are designed for those who would like to try their hand at learning the basic skills of woodcarving as well as those who would like to improve their skills.
The workshops will be led by Jim Marbutt from Summerville, Georgia, a highly skilled woodcarver whose work can be found all over the Southeast. Pictured above is Mama Bear's Mantle carved by Jim for a home under construction in Cloudland, Georgia.
The cost of the Woodcarving Workshop Series is $95 which includes the cost of your tools. Included in the tool kit is four carving knives commonly used for woodcarving, a leather strop and strop abrasive for sharpening tools, sharpening instructions, a woodcarving instruction manual and blanks for you to practice on between classes. If you already own your own tools, the cost is only $40.
Space is limited so reserve your spot today by emailing Neal Whitt at nealwhitt@aol.com.
As always, please feel free to forward this email to anyone who you think might be interested in participating.
