The Mentone Area Arts Council is pleased to present the John Alexander Dersham Photography Workshop. If you would like to improve your photography skills, this might just be for you. On October 23 and 24, 2009, John Dersham will conduct a two day seminar in Mentone that will do just that.
Friday evening will be spent in the classroom at the Mentone Community House located on Highway 117 just behind the Library.
Saturday morning will be spent on a live shoot at Little River Canyon. And, this is not just a seminar for professionals - it’s for anyone who would like to learn more about what goes into taking a really great photograph.
Fee: $25 Per Person
John knows his stuff. He was a career executive with Kodak before moving to Fort Payne to serve as the Executive Director of the DeKalb County Tourist Association. He was frequently called upon by Kodak to photograph subjects that became part of its marketing program. Some of his works have been on display at the Canyon Center and at other places around Fort Payne. He will also be featured in the Alabama Waterways: A Photographic Celebration Exhibitto be on display in Mentone from October 10, 2009 until November 1, 2009.
We would appreciate your spreading the word about this workshop by copying and posting it in a predominant place where others can see it. This will be a great experience!!
Space is limited to 15 students so register now by emailing mentonearts@aim.com. Also, for those who would like to experiment with different kinds of cameras, John will have a few on hand for you to try.
Hope to see you there! Neal Whitt
