MAAC Speaker Series: Don Nobles, Ph.D, Feb. 5th
The Mentone Area Arts Council (MAAC) is pleased to present Dr. Don Nobles as the latest offering in our Speaker Series. Don is the long time host of Alabama Public Television’s (APT) Bookmark interview program, shown on Sunday mornings over the network. He will speak to MAAC on Saturday evening, February 5th, at Mentone’s Crystal Lake Lodge (3291 Co. Rd. 165, Mentone, 35984, where our 2009 annual meeting was held last fall). Don will share anecdotes and memorable video tape clips from his telecasts, which has been on APT since 1988. Don’s weekly reviews of fiction and nonfiction, mostly southern in origin, have also been featured on Tuscaloosa’s Alabama Public Radio since 2002. A small admission fee of $10 per person will be charged to help defray expenses and raise funds for MAAC programs. Light refreshments will be served at a reception beginning at 5:30. Dr. Noble will speak to us at 6:00.

As always, if you have a cultural or artistic event coming up, share the news with MAAC and we’ll pass it on. Send your items to: duckman1@centurytel.net.
We’re trying to limit the information we pass on to arts, crafts, and cultural activities.
