Rock Spring, GA Snow Photograph Not the greatest photo but I love it for the peaceful feeling that I get from looking at it.
How did it happen that their lips came together? How does it happen that birds sing, that snow melts, that the rose unfolds, that the dawn whitens behind the stark shapes of trees on the quivering summit of the hill? A kiss, and all was said.
~ Victor Hugo
I’m working on a snow scene right now, and it’s summer. It’s hot, and I will get chilly. I’ll have to turn on the heat. My wife walks in, and it’s 95 degrees in the studio. I know it’s nutty, but it’s a projection you have where you step into the painting.
~ Thomas Kinkade
Some days I would go without any fire at all, and eat raw frozen meat and melt snow in my mouth for water.
~ Buffalo Bill
The pure air and dazzling snow belong to things beyond the reach of all personal feeling, almost beyond the reach of life. Yet such things are a part of our life, neither the least noble nor the most terrible.
~ Frederick Soddy
