Alabama Waterways: A Photographic Celebration

My friends keep sending me great news so I just keep passing it on! Enjoy and take advantage of this great oppurtunity to further your creative vision by exploring the refined craft of master photographers.

The Mentone Area Arts Council is pleased to present Alabama Waterways:  A Photographic Celebration.

Nationally renowned art photographer David Young has joined Beth K. Stewart, Beth Maynor Young, Charles Seifried, David Patterson, and some of the southeast’s preeminent conservation photographers to produce an exhibit displaying the beauty and diversity of our most precious resource: water. The exhibit will also feature the works of John Alexander Dersham, who will also lead a Photography Workshop on October 23 and 24, 2009 (more details to follow).

This project showcases conservation photography, which is a valuable tool in the effort to protect Alabama’s diverse river systems, as well as photography as an art form, with Alabama’s waterways as the subject matter.

The exhibit is sponsored by the Alabama Rivers Alliance, helping to further its mission of protecting and restoring Alabama’s waterways through partnership with government, grassroots organizations, and citizens like you.

The exhibit will be on display from Saturday, October 10, 2009, until Sunday, November 1, 2009 on the second floor of the Mentone Realty Building located in downtown Mentone, Alabama.

Attached is a flyer for the upcoming exhibit.  We would appreciate your assisting us in spreading the word about the event by copying the flyer and posting it in a predominant place for others to see.  As always, please feel free to pass this email along to anyone who you think might be interested in attending.
