“Bringing the West Alive in Downtown Cartersville”
October 24-25, 2009
The Booth Western Art Museum has exciting news for vendors interested in a Wild West themed show happening this year.
They are keeping the arrangement of their outdoor festival setup the same as last year. According to the majority of surveys returned to them it was a successful setup using separate interest pods; Western Cowboy Marketplace, East Meets West/Native American Indian Village, Civil War Encampment and Art Under the Oaks.
I for one loved all the shows and my wife still reenacts some of them!
Western Cowboy Marketplace: Vintage clothing, saddles, leather carving, leather belts, old time photos, metal-works, western furniture. Vintage clothing, saddles, leather carving, leather belts, old time photos, metal-works, western furniture. They will be merging the Pioneer setup into this area with pottery being made, lye soap making, basket weaving, chair caning, primitive antiques and many other items.
East Meets West/Native American Indian Village: For Native American items such as jewelry, blankets, beading, baskets, bow and arrows, etc.
Civil War Encampment: Campsites, cooking, rifle demonstrations, drills, etc.
Art Under the Oaks: For artsy folks that present paintings, sculptures, painted gourds, carvings, etc. Artists are encouraged to bring their supplies and show how their masterpieces are created. This is where I’ll be showing with a lot more western themed art than last year. I can’t wait to see you there!
Each vendor/demonstrator will choose the category where they and their wares will best fit in. Their research shows this concept has been successful in many different events across the country, drawing many people with matching interests into the areas for the vendors.
Please call or email your request for a space as soon as possible, as spaces are expected to fill up quickly. They will assign spaces as they receive your reservation. Application and payment is due no later than September 30, 2009, or they will have to reassign your space to the next one on their waiting list. Please send photographs of your wares with your application. Contact Liz Gentry, one very nice lady, at lizg@boothmuseum.org or call 770-387-1300 ext. 235, or Ken Wade, a very nice gentleman as well, at kenw@boothmuseum.org or call 770-387-2096 for more information.
They are encouraging vendors to set up on Thursday, October 22 and Friday, October 23, 8:00 am until 7:00 pm, to avoid the backup that occurs when all come at once. There will be security on hand to keep a watchful eye on your treasures.
Once again, Holiday Inn is serving as the host hotel for the event. For room rates and reservations please contact by calling 770-386-0830 or www.holiday-inn.com. Do not forget to ask for the “Cowboy Rate.”
