Textured Rose Original Oil Painting

Textured Rose was the first addition to my fine art portfolio this year. Often I start these paintings by painting the panel and then finding a subject to go with the theme I have created. The paint texture was a lot of fun to work with spreading and mixing thick globs of paint to create lots of soft blends.

Sometimes I get lost in color as I’m painting. Perhaps that is one of the biggest highlights to painting for me. Watching colors react to one another is a joy that shines light on my day!

 

This painting I think inspires a little quiet contemplation which quite a few of my paintings seem to be doing here lately.
