Mother's Yellow Lily Oil Painting
Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 3:20AM Mother’s Yellow Lily is a Creative Realism flower painting that has been sitting in my studio sketched out ready to paint for years. I just couldn’t find a magical way to express what I wanted to about this gorgeous flower. The beauty I felt had no brushstrokes.
I’m glad that I didn’t finish the painting before I did for it would not have been near as good. The background was painted a few years ago a much different color than you see now. Depth is much greater now with the colors I’ve chosen and the tones are far better. The background has subtle purplish-brown tones that make the yellow flower pop off the page.
You will notice that one petal below blends into the background along with some of the stamens.
Mom loves her lilies and has planted quite a few. This one really caught my eye as it was late in the blooming season and the others had already begun to dry and wither. Therefore, I captured this one before all was lost. I hope you enjoy this lily and thank you for taking the time to stop by my Fine Art Blog.
Mother’s Yellow Lily will be registered with Fine Art Registry before departing my studio. If you would like to purchase this fine art oil painting call me at 423-505-0805. Thank you for stopping by Boyd Greene Fine Art.
